The challenge: biodiesel production under feedstock variability and demanding process conditions
TECOSOL GmbH produces biodiesel from contaminated residues and waste materials generated, for example, in the timber industry and oleochemistry. The composition of these feedstocks varies significantly, requiring sophisticated process engineering. Safe control of high-temperature and high-pressure processes is required for the production of high-quality biofuel.
Storage and loading also present significant challenges. The tank farm must accurately record all inventories and correctly reflect storage and handling processes. It also needs to ensure transparent custody transfer subject to legal metrology for all material flows.
