Customer challenge

Compliance with legally prescribed limit values for orthophosphate posed a number of challenges for the wastewater treatment plant in Colditz. Previously, the precipitent was dosed on the basis of weekly laboratory analyses – however, these only provided selective results and were unable to record fluctuations depending on the time of day or week. Continuous and more precise monitoring of the phosphate content was necessary in order to meet the increasing requirements in the long term.

Our solutions

Endress+Hauser partnered with Veolia to implement continuous phosphate monitoring using the CA80PH analyzer. It measures phosphate levels in two aeration basins, enabling precise dosing of precipitent.
Digital technologies were also used: The measurement data is transmitted in real time via the Netilion Cloud. This allows maintenance requirements to be recognized immediately. Thanks to additional remote access, the Endress+Hauser service team can access the analyzer directly.
